I am trying to decide which of these 2 phones I would like to get as my next upgrade, I guess maybe I'm not as knowledgeable as most of you are on here because I can't really find much difference between the 2...am I missing something? thx

To be honest as of now, there arent any real specs on the Essex. Its all speculation and rumors besides that it has a trackpad and WiFi and that it looks exactly like the tour. Tour 2? Im not sure it is officialy called Tour 2 yet. Also there are some memory differences that Salomondrin verified on the video but other than that there isnt any legit specs to compare the both.
As far as the Bold 9700 goes, I believe it is a great phone. I still believe the 9700 iis still going to be the flagship model for blackberry. IMO I think they are going to be similiar and both have its pros and cons. Its all going to come down to if you have a cdma or gsm carrier. This is all my opinion.
Personally I am leaning towards the 9700. Tired of Verizon releasing phones that dont work and release a new phone 6 months after to fix the problems it had and not letting the customers now about it. Plus the 9700 is sexy.
Assuming the Essex's radio specs are going to be the same as the Tour, the question is what is more important to you - having CDMA coverage in North America (Essex), or having the North American HSPA bands (Bold 9700). I see you're with Bell, I'm guessing they're gonna be like Telus and keep both the EVDO and HSPA networks running side by side for a while.
Otherwise the form factors and specs should be very similar, with the Bold possibly having a faster processor.
