which blackberry is better the 8700g or 8700c?

both are in my price range, so i wondered the difference? i cant really see any.

if this helps, i cannot get a BB plan where i live, so i will have to use 3rd party apps for email and such. just wanted to point that out, in case that would influence your answers. I am on a GSM network with unlimited data plan (unicel)

i plan on buying today so i cant wait for your answers.

    Thanks, great forum!!

    Derek,
The 8700g do NOT come with:
    Color display
    travel charger
    handsfree headset
    wall charger
It is all on their web site just go to devices select and compare devices. Here is a link BlackBerry - BlackBerry 8700 Series | 8700c, 8700g, 8700r & 8703e Wireless Handheld Devices

The seller probably photoshopped in a colour screen shot onto the device for the pics... I've heard of a lot of people on eBay doing this...

What price range are you thinking of? Have you looked at the MarketPlace here on the Forum?
I'm not familiar with your Carrier (Unicel) hence I am unable comment on you using a particular type of unlock phone, But you should be able to get a 88xx phone used at a good price now that all the Carriers now have the Curve.
    Just my $0.02 worth.

unicel is a GSM network, so it would have to be GSM. my budget is no more then $175.00. that is why the 8700c works

You should also try looking on eBay for the Curve.. it's a far superior phone. Great screen size, graphics, full qwerty, just an awesome little phone.

No need to be rude about it............

I have always heard the g does not come with a colour screen, but if we are mistaken, well, it's just a mistake.

I was stating a fact on Blackberry web site that the color screen is not checked. Therefore BTW I have a 8700g and the screen is more like a grayscale, but definately not color. Just went and looked at it.

I'm sure you can find a decend phone on the marketplace or on craigslist for that price. Even check different carriers. Some of the phone a really discounted.

That doesn't mention anything about it being a colour screen.

My 8700c has color! I have it. The 8700g, well who cares... Lol. The form factor is better on the 8700c IMO.

I actually believe both have color...

They don't even separate the 8700c and 8700g as they are both the same.
