In order to be able to do most things on your blackberry, you are going to need a Data plan. You can make calls without it, but for internet and applications you're going to need the plan.
An unlocked phone will work with your sim card to make calls and all, but again, the data plan is needed to do other things on the phone

I have an 8900 and i know att supports those. I love my phone, it works great & and i have never had a problem with anything on it yet *knocks on wood*. Most of the newer phone will cost you, but i think the 8900 is affordable and a great phone

I would recommend an unlocked 8900 over those others. The track ball is better and the phone itself seems to have less issues.

Yeah or they will add one for you. You will need a Blackberry Specific data plan.

The 8700 was released 4 years ago. That's pretty ancient in technology terms.

You might want to check out the 87xx forum for more discussion on it.

And we have this sign in the house. Of course it means that we ALL have to use the side door.
