I need to wipe my BB Tour before I send it back to Asurion b/c a refridgerator edge hit the screen and made it look like a million different colors but I can not see any info from the phone or apps itself.

How do I wipe it clean if I can't see what is on the screen?

    Thanks,

Use BBSAK to wipe the device, then reload the OS.

Don't do a backup/restore as you don't want your apps or personal info on it.

hmmm...Ok but how do you use BBSAK to wipe the device, then reload the OS. I am no technical guy with this phone. All I do is take phone calls, use Pandora, sms and that is about it.

Not a problem, I'll slow it down a bit.

Download BBSAK here and install to PC RIMGeeks.com • View topic - [Beta][10/25/09] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.7.0

Hook up your device to your PC via USB, then launch BBSAK. Click the "Wipe" button.

Then follow the steps in this thread to reload the OS http://forums.crackberry.com/f132/ho...system-208714/

    1. Make sure the device is powered on.

    2. Make sure Desktop Manager isn't running.

    3. If both above are done, hit the "Kill Processes" button.

    It should then be recognized.

Try rebooting both the PC and BB, start from a fresh boot with both. DO NOT open DM when you boot up, just open BBSAK.

Another possibility (if on Vista) is that you have to right-click and "Run as ADMIN"

Did you have your device password protected? If so, lock it and type something other than the pw followed by pressing enter key. Do that ten times and it will fully wipe your device back to factory status. Doing it this way will eliminate having to do anything on your pc.

just in the crackberry kind of way! It says "are you sure this is a low level wipe"!

What does low level wipe mean and is there a difference btw that and a high level wipe?

TrIpping the password security wipes all personal data from the devIce. You'll be good to go.

I think it is wiping the device but I can't be for sure. The BBSAK window is at a standstill but maybe that means it is wiping the Tour? It take it this program takes a while to wipe the Tour?
