I have a 8520 that I am going to sell but the letter E does not work and I need to wipe it, but I can't without the letter E, plus it is on password lock and the password has a E in it. My question is how do I get around all of this without the letter E. Thanks for the help in advance..

Type your password incorrectly 3 times and it will wipe your device without using the letter E.

I did that and it asks me to type in "BLACKBERRY" to continue. So now I am stuck as I need the E.

If that won't help, you may need to download BBSAK on your PC and wipe the device that way.

Ok I will try that thanks for the help.. Now if you can just tell me how I can fix the letter E.

If I could see the device, I might have some advice. If it's physical damage, there's nothing I could suggest, if it's software related, the wipe may clear it up.

Why can't you wipe it because of an unfuctioning key? Anyway to get around the pwd down load the 8520 os and bbsak. Install the os and bbsak on your pc. Then open bbsak and wipe the device then install the os on to the phone. Now it'll be all shiny and new again. BTW why won't the "E" work?

I know lol but thanks for the help.. I have taken it apart and cleaned it, replaced the keypad, trackpad, case and so on. I have backed it up and updated it too and still no luck.

Is there anything special I need to do with BBSAK? Do I just install BBSAK, download latest OS for 8520 to pc. Wipe device and then load OS and thats it?
