Ive tried everything i cant even get it to show me a map its just a green...lined screen Ive tried putting in address and pressing find me and many different ways but nothing works? help please? I have a black berry 8820

Do you have a data plan? Do you have a signal? The GPS will work without data or a cell signal, but to draw a map you have to have a data plan and a cell connection to provide the data. The BlackBerry is not like a stand-alone GPS, it does not come with any preloaded maps.

I don't have a data plan, only wifi. Will the map work with just a cell signal or do I need an available wifi AP?

You don't say what mapping app you are using, but I don't think Google Maps will work without a data plan, even if you have wi-fi. Here's a thread that discusses it without coming to a definitive solution: http://forums.crackberry.com/f41/goo...estion-103039/

That thread suggests you have to have a data plan, but doesn't prove it.
