I, like most BB10 users have the latest software update and was eager to download apk files by using snap. However, after I download an apk and press "install" or tap it, this is the screen I get. It never installs the app. Any ideas??

Do a reboot. I know it is an old thing to say, but it really does help re-initialize everything. Battery pull or hard reset preferred.

I'm doing a hard reset right now. Sideloading Snap was simple, but it won't install the app. It downloads, but when I tap open installer, the button dims out and it just sits there

Solved it. All permissions for the Snap app must be turned on.

You know what, I have the same error and was just going to delete this app until I saw this thread. I have been using 1 mobile and amazon app stores for my android apps.

Anyways in my application permissions snap is not listed? Any ideas? Are there NY experts out there?

Settings, security and privacy, application permissions. I had shared files turned off and as soon as I turned it on, everything worked.

I had the same problem. Had to do a security wipe and restore the phone and then update again. Nothing else worked for me. Was a little annoying, but it finally works now.

Do I need to back up my device first? Will it delete important things from my phone?

Guys, please do not advise security wipe for every issue. There are lot of newbies who are not aware that a security wipe means it will delete all the data and convert your phone to a brand new device. If you are suggesting please do mention it and warn them that they will lose all the data. So they are aware of it. Again try to suggest security wipe or factory reset only if it's really necessary. There is no need to do a security wipe for simple things like permissions for an app. Peace.
