I like all the looks of all these phones. The 8330, 8350i, 8530 and tour.

Basically all I am looking to use it for is text, email, talk and every now and then searching google for information.

Media features dont matter to me one bit, but being sturdy and reliable does. My 8330 just randomly stopped working after only 7 months so I need to get a new phone.

I can get the following at these prices:

    8330- $160
    8530- $200
    Tour- $240

Personally, I would go with the 8530 since it has the trackpad instead of the ball.

The tour is the "higher end" of all those phones and I would recommend it first.
The 8330 is solid built, reliable, but its very slow compared to the tour.
The 8530 is a phone I wouldn't recommend unless you like cheaply built phones. It gets the job done though.

You make the 8530 sound terrible. It is still a very reliable phone. A friend of mine has been happily using his since he purchased it 8 months ago, with no problems. Would I take it over a Bold? Not a chance

I agree with hondateg, the 8530 felt flimsy in my hands, and passed on it. It didn't have the solid feel of 8330/9630, both of which I owned.

Are you not eligible for an upgrade? Why are you limited to three old devices?

No upgrade, and dont have hundreds of dollars to drop on a phone. $240 is pushing it.

I have owned and used both an 8320 and the Tour. The Tour is a solid phone with very good capabilities. I would choose it for form and function. Still hard to beat the 8330 for your needs. It is 'handy'. You can't really go wrong but I suspect a lot of people will have the 'older' phone comment.
