Came across this pic on twitter and had to share. 8 hours locked down on Parliament Hill and this is producing memos on his BlackBerry.

Agreed. In the face of adversity, have to remain strong and not let the terrorists win.

Let's not forget the importance of what actually happened. BlackBerry definitely isn't the subject of the story. He could have done that on any phone I'm sure. I'm a big blackberry supporter. Huge. But that's not what this story is about.

Yesterday when Anna Maria was interviewing the Globe and Mail reporter who shot that video, she asked him if it was his iPhone that he used to shoot the video.. He responded by saying that he was proud to have used his Canadian BlackBerry to shoot the video....

You're absolutely right. And you can't create democracy with a gun either.

Sure but this is a BlackBerry fan site, not just a general news discussion board. Plus, there is something that unambiguously says "I was still working" when someone states that they were "on their BlackBerry". If they would have said: "been here using our iPhones", it doesn't quite scream "continuity of operations under all circumstances" as clearly.

Quick rightly put. Stating that you "sent out memos using the phone " at that time would not denote the same as when you say "sent out memos using the BlackBerry".

The name BlackBerry still denotes serious minded work.

I think the article mentioned an 8 hour period. Duly noted that the BlackBerrys were able to remain charged and productive for awhile: before, during and probably after the lockdown. Not sure how I would feel if I had to find an outlet so I can remain in contact with my family for that long. Just to keep them updated that I was fine, u know.
