    Hello all,

I wanted to ask from you guys which blackberry should i buy? Z10 or Q10?
I have used windows phone and i really like it, i also like blackberry. I have used my mom's Lumia 925, and windows phone is good updates wise, windows phone gets updates soon when they come.

So now i want to ask about updates of blackberry os, do they update the os similarly and soon like windows phone? or it is like never on android? Secondly i want to ask about which mobile should i buy for myself? z10 or q10? currently i am using a nokia basic asha qwert phone. I really like qwert keyboards and i love blackberry along with nokia lumia phones, but i want to buy a blackberry for myself. maybe i will buy a lumia next time.

So which mobile phone should i buy q10 or z10. as they are cheap now, i can get z10 at 230 us dollars and q10 at 260 us dollars in my country.

    thanks

Both are great devices with similar internal specs.

The Z10 is better for app availability, usability and (in my opinion) looks and form factor. It has been known to have awful battery life (almost as bad as the iPhone)

The Q10 offers a better typing experience and is slightly smaller in your pocket. It, however, has limited app availability because of the 1:1 aspect ratio of the screen. Battery life is decent, as is the beautiful glass-weave back and steel frame.

If you can get your hands on a Z30, I would personally say that is the best device. Right now, BlackBerry is selling them direct on their website for $300 US. It is a bigger, more powerful Z10 with great speakers, battery life, call quality and reception.

OS updates are fairly regular, a few times a year for sure.

As for which phone, Q10 or Z10 - its all up to you, do you want nice smaller portable phone with a physical keyboard? Or are you into watching lots of youtube video, more media centric? The Z version might be for you.

I am not into games or apps, i barely use any app or game on my phone. When i want to play games i play them on PC
What i will be doing on my mobile phone is texting, mails, calender, some internet surfing, and that's all.

I also don't watch much youtube videos, and i like physical keyboards, especially blackberry keyboards. So i am inclining towards bb q10.

If that's what you plan to do with it then I would 100% go with the Q10.

The OP asked a question regarding the Q10 and the Z10, why does every time a similar thread is created we get a oh get this X model phone. If the OP wanted to know about XX phone he would have asked to compare 3-4 of them.

The Q10 and Z10 are set at a very attractive price point right now, still very capable devices, and they actually get better with each OS upgrade. Something that can't be said with other phone manufacturer.

Because the OP mentioned that he/she would be paying $260US for the Q10, maybe unaware of the BlackBerry blowout sale right now.

My suggestion was to check the price of the Z30 if he/she was into the all-touch form factor, since it is only $40 more right now in the US. If I was trying to push my preference, I would have brought up the Passport.

Why is it that every time somebody asks a question, somebody else takes it off-topic just for a chance to attack somebody?

That sucks! Q10 will still give you a great BB10 experience!

I'm rocking a Z30 but am considering a Z10..for the size factor. Remember...it's not what the phone can do...it's what you do with the phone

    Good luck with your choice!

Regarding updates BlackBerry do release software updates. The updates are controlled by the service provider so they don't get released as often as most people on this forum would like. You however have the option to download leaked versions relatively easily there are however risks involved.

If you can find a Z30 I would recommend that, in my opinion.

Sorry, didn't mean to be an attack. I see that the Z30 is at $299, I thought it was priced at $399. Definitely a good buy if you don't mind the bigger size.

Go for a z10. Mine is z10 st100-1. And i'm loving it. And updates.? Z10 is running a 10.2.1. Which is cool. I dont know if there will be a update.? Whatever, I use a leak. Believe me. You wont feel it, as a leak. 1st of all, u should use 10.2.1 which is hot. Then u will understand how hotter the leaks are. Thanks to sachesi.

And I do accept the battery thing. No problems on mine. But 2000mA is too low. Works just nearly 7 hrs. You are welcome to blackberry family.

If you like the Q10 for keyboard sure, but for screen coverage I would go for the Z10. The only thing is with the Z30 on sale and with the new update I would go with Z30. I have Z10 , Z30 and now the new Passport which I love. If it's a smaller phone you want and don't mind changing your battery, get the Z10. If you want a bigger phone and like a longer battery use Z30. I think you would be happy with any of these phones, even though I don't have a Q10. Sure think of getting one. Get the Q10 and the Z10 if you can afford it and you pop the sim back and forth to see which one you like and you will always have a backup. That's what I do.

Can I suggest the Q5? Long time multiple BlackBerry devices user here, and the Q5 is one the best that BlackBerry have ever made. It's like they managed to merge the best of BB10 with the best of the old Curve (like 8300 style) line.

My wife was on a Z10, and I just moved her to a Q10.

its a tough decision between the 2. The Q10 keyboard absolutely rocks. Truly impressive, but now we lost so much screen real estate from the Z10 which she liked. So far she seems happy with Q10.

I guess thats why Im so happy with Passport, its the best of Both.

Don't get the Z10. It's a broken phone. The battery life is intolerable if you put it to any real use. Get Q10 or secondhand Z30.

The Q10 's speaker is a beast too. The phone is fast. U will enjoy it. The Z10s aren't pricey and can be had for a good deal on Ebay is u still get the itch to try one. Battery life on my Z10 is about 10-12 hours. And I have battery bundles for my phones. Enjoy!
