Just a line to say that my family are now fully BlackBerry, when I first joined this forum The new BlackBerry phones were just being released in the US, many folk on this forum helped me to make choices from solid advice. Despite all the negative anti BlackBerry comments which at times was quite nasty (?) we have achieved our aims and are all impressed and very happy BlackBerry users.

There is something for everyone in the available choices, this to often an understated point, I have the 9810, best of both, big screen excellent physical and virtual keyboards. I also have the playbook for my work. Ex windows HTC HD2

My daughter over the moon with her 9860 (she didn't want some of the monster screens that are in abundance now, and wanted BBM and dislikes facebook etc), she said how the OS just makes sense, ex Samsung tocco lite

My wife a busy specialist nurse just wanted a no frills curve 9360, she cant stand touch screens, she gets brilliant call quality as she has hearing difficulties. EX Nokia 6600 slider

This is not a dig at any other manufacturer, we are all different.

    Thanks for the help

I am convinced that the more people you are close with you can get on the same platform, the more you will enjoy and appreciate the platform. You start to use the unique or built in communication tools, etc more and more.

This is nice. I like that your daughter dislikes facebook. [/clicks "like" button] And you can all stay in touch with bbm.

My family all made their own choices after they experienced my Torch. As far as I am aware BlackBerry is the only manufacturer/platform which has so many combinations, my feeling was that nokia were closest to this, various phone forms etc.

In my work many people experience my 9810, it's nice to watch them taking it in, so I think you're right, already clients chose to BBM rather than text which is very useful as the communication feels more secure and instant, important for those in therapy.

I don't mind someone asking me to see my phone (if I know them well enough.) or asking questions about the platform, but I have never been one to push a platform onto someone. They ask me how I like it and I tell them.

Just because I like it, don't mean they will.

Well done, I've tried the same thing, but I still can't get my older son to let go of his iPhone, but 3 out of 4 ain't bad. The 3 of us with BB's would are very happy and just ignore the wayward son
