Maybe you have a defective memory card slot on your BB. I would call customer service and see what they say.

The new cards don't show up when you insert them into the BB or it wont do anything and keeps asking to format them?

Did we not have our coffee yet?

Do you have a memory card reader or access to one? If your current card is fine, maybe you bought two bad cards. I find it hard to believe, but it could happen. If your computer can't read them then I would be suspect.

When I upgraded to 2 gig cards, the driver in my SD card slot (on my PC) needed to be upgraded, because the old driver only supported up to 1 gig. Have you been able to use 4 gig cards (or larger) with your card reader/computer before?

Also, do you have the latest OS on your berry?

You need a high density adapter for your pc, they are $10 at staples, office max, or best buy.
Once you get one, format the card in your pute, then format it in your phone, then filler up..

On the phone go to Options/Media Card. If you click the menu on that screen there is an option to format the card.

What happens when you go to Options/Media Card? Do you see any info on the card? It should show Total and Free space on the card.

The card should not have to be formatted before putting it in the phone. I did not format the 2Gb card I initially had in my 8830 and I just replaced that with a 4Gb card the other day and again I did not format it before installing it and they both worked just fine.
