Is there an app to password protect memos only, without locking the whole phone??

No. You can't lock individual apps. It's the whole phone or nothing.

My workaround is this. Download and install BBNotepad

This will allow you to create folders and save memos on the
memory card. I have several folders I consider sensitive:
    Personnel, HIPAA, etc.

Once set up go to media > press menu > explore > navigate to
the particular folder you want to protect > press menu > select
properties > place a check in the box "Hidden" and they are,
    well, hidden.

This may work with the native memo pad. I don't know as
I have deleted that and use BBNotepad exclusively.
