    The encryption key will be different. That's why RIM's security is so well known. I learned the hard way too. The average user has no need to encrypt. In a corporate environment maybe. However, the same situation happens there too.
    Thanks and well, life goes on, we live and learn. and I found the same answer as you said above at BB site:

    "By design, if all data or all data and applications are removed from the BlackBerry smartphone, or the BlackBerry Device Software is reinstalled, and the Media Card Encryption option is set to Device Key or User Password and Device Key, the BlackBerry smartphone will not be able to access the encrypted data on the media card. This is because the Non Volatile memory (RAM) is cleared when the BlackBerry smartphone is wiped and the encryption key, which was stored in this memory location, is no longer available."
