...That's all i have to say really.
I used to be on CB-Forums everyday all day but now with my new job i can only get on them on weekends and late at night. So I have an entire week of running threw posts and thread to see what i missed and see who is saying what. The big thing I'm noticing is that the thread s are the same thing over and over again...really its lowering my post average people, i used to be over 2 posts a day but am now down to about 1.7/1.8... Some thing happen. Come on RIM announce something worth talking about not just silly rumors.

    anyone feel the same?
don't you think that the BB PLATFORM itself has become redundant and would be OBSOLETE very soon?

is that an actual question? or are you just hating on BB?
No i don't think that BB OS has become redundant or that it will be obsolete any time soon. The OS is very much changing and evolving all the time. The fact that PBOS 2.0 will be what the BB10 phones are going to "run on" is a huge move in the right way for BBs. Plus they have a year to add even more features.

There's a balance between keeping the site organized/clean, and keeping it active. Kevin kinda likes revenue, so the scale always tips his way.

So...... shall we consider this your application for service?
idk are you guys looking for a new MOD? How many BB sites can say they have a presence all the way up here :P

I use an RSS reader than captures only the new posts for a day or the last 7 days or a month. Having that you don't have to search through stale posts/threads. I used to do what you describe, then I started using the Safari browser which gathers only new posts during a preset time period.
thats a great idea . what RSS reader do you use?

I see alot of noobs istalling the Beta and then posting for help, without doing a search for their particular answer.
Yes, I know we are here to help them, but come on... installing a dev beta when they don't know what the they are doing?

    ok, /rant

Sorry... I think I've just had a bad week at work.. it's bleeding over to here..

I think there should be a PB how to/questions spot in stead of jamming them all under "PlayBook".

No One searches any more its crazy. but this can also be stopped by the MODs locking up threads that are duplicate. Man if i was a MOD is be hitting that Lock thread button so fast LOL
I was going to say something a little stronger than that, but decided to be good. Glad someone said it.

It's pretty cyclical. Back when I first joined, most of the repetitive threads were related to the Storm, and the Storm forums were even more hostile than the Playbook forums.

Eventually, the Playbook stuff will die down, just like the Storm stuff did.

My only complaint is that there is no way to view todays Blackberry posts except for Playbook in the mobile forums. It is easy to use search filters on the desktop, but that isn't possible on mobile. Also, the mobile version does not tell you what forum the thread is in, so I might see a thread asking about WiFi, only to find out it's about the Playbook WiFi. I'd like a way to see new Blackberry posts in mobile but ignore new Playbook posts.

I know the mobile forums used to offer the option to exclude Storm forum posts.

If anything the PB forum is going to be even worse with PBOS 2.0 coming out in a few weeks. I can see the headaches already with people asking how this new thing works and how to do this and can we do this now because its updated. I just hope the MODs are ready for a huge spike in posts.

I dunno. A lot of stuff is repetative/reduntant (pick one, they both work). Then again I used to rock Ye Ole Pearl (8130 running 4.5). I was on here daily, sometimes before AND after work. It was friendly, we all had similar issues with our devices and we'd help each other out. Occasionally a thread would get pretty heated (esp the Storm troopers), but for the most part it was people helping each other out, and it was cool

Now things are different. Forums all over the web are more "hostile". Its not just the Crack(berry) Heads here, or the FanDroids, or the iClones. Its Everwhere. (oh and don't get mad if I insulted you. I visit all 3 forums so I try to offend everyone equally)

The other part of it is the progression or the OS has brought improvements in stability. Anyone remember a physical battery pull DAILY (or multiple pulls) as part of your life if you wanted to rock a Berry? Also the hardware itself is more reliable (Who else in a moment of desparation stripped down a trackball to all its tiny components to clean it? - and was shocked at the buildup of crap in there?)

Yes, the forums are somewhat "same old, same old". But then again, there are a few good reasons for it too. Now if I could have the 9900, but keep the fun/open feel of the forums from 4ish years ago (minus all the current "touchiness") we'd be set!

I use th rss reader that comes on the blackberry. Its so cool. 1 section shows all my FB and twitters and another showas all the new post on the forum boards I follow. What is also great I you can follow different sub forums herre with having to switch back and forth.

Meh..if you think the PB forum is bad for it, XDA forums (for Android modding) is 10 times worse lol. It's all par for the course when you actually start taking control of your device, instead of just using it as is, right out of the box.

The PlayBook forum is currently annoying. Just like the Storm forum was.

Is it me or have the Forums become redundent?

Never hit the Storm section (Thank Goodness from what I hear), but the PB section was really bad, seems to have quieted down. I guess we'll see resurgence when 2.0 drops officially.

The Storm is similiar to the PlayBook in that it is kind of a POS and people feel the need to defend it. The Storm was glitchy. The PB is just missing features and apps. Hopefully when that is resolved that section of the forum will be less defensive.

@chrisy - I knew the Storm was trouble when people were trading them for a sidekick

I had the original storm and I agree that it is/was a POS.

Are you really getting upset over what anthogag posted? Do a simple google search and you will see the storm was junk out of the gate.

Up here we still have to do Battery Pulls on a reg basis due to the network freezing our BBs
This thread is becoming the antithesis of it's title. Later.
i agree...hey MODs wanna lock it down please, Thanks
