"Ms Adams said on Facebook that she woke up "around midnight [a few hours after the flight landed] freezing cold still trapped in my seat in complete darkness."

She said the experience was "terrifying".

Ms Adams managed to call her friend Deanna Dale to let her know where she was when her phone died less than a minute into the call."

Maybe she could use a BlackBerry? And since it happened in Canada, perhaps BlackBerry could give her one for some publicity...

yes a phone is going to make here feel better. Then lets exploit her horrible experience all for something completely unrelated.

The point is that her phone wouldn't have died and it would have solved two things:

    1. Being able to communicate with her friends, family, emergency services...
    2. Not being in dark...

And this post was also in half jest. It's certainly more applicable than Brand Ambassadors that don't use the product.

No, but they're touted for their long lasting battery... I guess Samsung touts that too.

No, she'd be on the floor in pitch darkness searching for her detached screen.

Lots of phones from the last few generations have 4xx and 6xx-series SnapDragons with excellent battery life - that's hardly unique to BB(Mo). My parents, for example, have Moto G's, a 5th Gen with a 625 and a 6th Gen with a 450. Both easily get 1.5-2 days out of a charge for their relatively light use.

Well, I guess there's nothing worth advertising, other than the physical keyboard.

    And the notification LED.

But people don't make purchasing decisions based on that feature lol

Battery life can still be a feature worth advertising, but folks can't be so tunnel-visioned about the BB brand that they're unaware that it isn't a feature that is unique to the brand - and a lot of BB fans are such rabid fans that they seem to be completely unaware of the competition and/or seem to believe that BB "invented" features that other brands invented or had already. It doesn't do anyone any favors to boast about a feature like it's unique when it isn't, because then people aren't going to take anything you say seriously - but, again, it's still a feature that people value and it absolutely is something worth advertising. You just can't come at it from the angle that "only BB has this".

Lots of phones have great cameras, and they still advertise that, and get sales from it, without saying that they're the only phone with a great camera.

The PKB *is* a feature that is truly unique to BB, so it's an obvious thing to advertise, but it's not the only positive the BB phones have. It just needs to be talked about in a way that doesn't undermine the credibility of the speaker.

The only features that are unique to BB brand is PKB and rubber back/industrial design. That's it as far as hardware goes.

In the end what she needed was a phone that had a crank on it.... I suspect no matter how big a battery it had, she would have still been in the same situation.
