Hello friends!
I am simply looking for a headset to use for handsfree talking. I obviously want one that works well with my BB Pearl but I'm overwhelmed - TOO MUCH INFORMATION out there. What would you all suggest??

My choice for the best headset is the Aliph Jawbone. It has the best noise cancelling in the market. But it does have an Achilles’ heel: wind. But if most of your time will be spent indoors, car or office, the Jawbone is awesome. It takes a little futzing around to get a solid fit, but it can be made to fit very well. Some folks suggest Jabra eargels, but I didn't like them so stuck with the earloop (with a little custom bending). A headset is a very personal choice, so I wish you good luck in finding one that makes you happy!
If you don't mind ear buds
This BT headset works in stereo
Oh SO COOL!!!
I think the two best out there are the Aliph Jawbone and the Blueant Z9...
I have the Z9...and I love it...its really small unlike the jawbone...
those two are consistently the highest rated...

I too am looking for a decent headset, non stereo. Every one I've looked at has the dumb looking blue light that flashes every 3 seconds. I refuse to buy one that does that, looks stupid to me...just my opinion.
I have to retract my last post. I have found on the latest Jabras that when not in a call they don't flash, so I will try them out.
the blue ant does not flash while in use...

Thanks -db, I will have to look into the Blue Ant also.
I use the Plantronics Voyager 510 with my Pearl and it works GREAT! I don't have calls dropping (my old phone dropped the bluetooth mid-call all the time!) There is a way to disable the flashing on it, but I like it as it confirms to me the BT is "talking" to the BB.
check it out:
BlueAnt Z9

I have the 8830 and I use the Motorola H700 and the Blue Ant Supertooth Light. The H700 works pretty good and it feels good on the ear. It doesn't go into your ear canal. If you do a lot of driving (as I do) then I would recommend the Blue Ant Supertooth Light. It clips on your sun visor and you don't have to have an earpiece. It works GREAT. Just some food for thought. Hope it helps.
Well after trying the BT8040, H700 and the JX10 I think I've finally found the one. It is the BT5020. The volume is very good and it truly is very comfortable for long periods of wear. The voice dialing is excellent. The only hiccup I've noticed is that callers state that it brakes up occasionally on their end and not on mine. It connects whenever I turn it on no problem, so I shall see. So far so good.
Cool...thank you everyone for your help on this!
LOL I just smashed the Jawbone on another post until you mentioned custom bending... I did it so we'll C how long it stays put...
What was your experience witht e BT8040. I have heard it's not compatable with BB's. I have a Pearl (8130) and would really like to get another BT headset. I really liked the fact that the BT8040 allows A2DP.
Well Cdmaguy, the BT8040 did not stay in my ear and there is no earhook, so it landed on the floor quite a few times. That was not good, but I had no problems pairing it to my 8830.
You can also disable the flash all the time on the Z9.
I bought the Jawbone the day before yesterday amd I really couldnt get it to fit right so I went and exchanged it for the blueant Z9. Flawless!!!! upgraded to firmware 3.4 right out the box and it sounds, feels, and fits great. I can barely feel it on my ear as with the jawbone it was falling off because of the size and weight. Plus one feature that I liked that the jawbone didnt have and the z9 did si the ability to pair it with 3 different devices. I have it paired to my curve, nokia and playstation 3. Oh yeah and when i talk to people they cant even tell im using a headset.
The Motorola H12 is a good looking headset and it works great ... I really, really like this headset! I have am currently using the BlueAnt Supertooth Light and it just clips on to my car visor. I don't love the "headset" so I wanted to avoid having that little thing in my ear all of the time ... so this thing just works like a speaker phone, and you can answer and end calls with it. I really like it.
