Went to my local AT&T store today to get my dad an upgrade and I noticed there was no Z10 advertising any where and when I "SEARCHED" for it I found it all the way in the back of the store where all the free deals and old phones are. I then asked why it was all the way back there and they said "They told us to put it There" not sure who "They" is because I didn't asked but I took some pictures as best as I could without looking awkward haha and ill upload them later unless I figure out how to do it now. I'm very surprised at the lack of support for BlackBerry..

I really think these posts should be sent directly to TH. The white collar guys at AT&T are telling TH they will support BlackBerry but the blue collar guys (sales force) are not.

I completely agree with the above. These types of posts (with proof like this one) should be forwarded directly to BlackBerry.

I went to check out the Z10 the day before it came out at an at&t store, and it was similarly placed. It was just in a row with a bunch of other phones, it was on the very end like that, right next to where transactions are rung up. It was almost behind the sales desk thing, so when I was playing with the Z10, it almost felt like I was in an area that I wasn't allowed to be in. Definitely not the best place for any device to be, especially BlackBerry's latest and greatest.

Like I said, it was the day before it launched, but all it was missing was the pricing sheet. It was connected to the security alarm thing, and to its charger, so I'm gonna assume that it was in the spot where it was going to be the next day when it went on sale. Not good.

I visited my AT&T store Sunday 3/24 -- they didn't have the Z10 out on display and then had to charge it so I could try it out. I blogged about that experience (and reviewed the Z10) here:

That's definitely not how my AT&T Z10 experience went. In my local store, the Z10 was on a center island in the middle of the store, next to a Bold 9900. The manager was a Windows fan (and didn't really like the Z10) but the associate who helped me loved the device!

At least yours had it up. My AT&T didn't even have one out on display. I mean, they may have been in the process since it was the day after launch, but still. Ridiculous.

I have a new theory. Please let me know what you think. Okay. Consider this: It's not about the Z10, it's about Blackberry 10, right? So if this is the case then I believe Blackberry wants a relatively quite US release. It is not the carrier who sets the specifics of how a brand markets itself, it is the brand. The brand is responsible for sending the carrier all the necessary specs (signage, location, accessories, booths, lingo, etc.) of the release. Knowing this, then we can safely say that Blackberry made a conscious decision to NOT pour a lot of money into this aspect of the AT&T release. This will have even more validity if the Verizon & T-Mobile release is handled the same way. Now, I say all of this to say this, Blackberry is aware of its weaknesses which is the key to being a strong competitor. It's main weaknesses being apps (Which in reality isn't a weakness, but relative to today's naive market it is.) and OS bugs (Which take time to surface & fix, especially with a 1st gen. OS). Americans are relentless when it comes to these 2 facets of the smartphone game. Blackberry doesn't want all those clueless consumers to have a chance to rip the device more than necessary.

So to prevent this unnecessary bleeding, release quietly and allow the best part of Blackberry, #TeamCrackberry (80 Million), to be the main marketing. Just yesterday I literally, after pretending to be a naive shopper for 15 mins., trained AT&T's on-staff Blackberry Z10 specialist on how to use the Z10 for an HOUR! She had just bought an iPhone5 & iPad THAT week! Yet her reactions were: "WOW!" "WHAT!?" "I DIDN'T KNOW THAT!?" "THAT'S COOL!" "IMPRESSIVE" "MAN, THIS IS BETTER THAN I THOUGHT." etc. We will be enough to carry Blackberry into the next phase, which I believe is where they are truly looking to focus their advertising efforts. The undercover device that will be released this Fall! You see, by then, there will be enough true buzz (Market Share) created from the Z10 & Q10 to have Americans truly paying attention to Blackberry 10.

I believe Blackberry has turned to the most tried & true method of marketing there is... WORD OF MOUTH. Once a person believes in something, they become the walking billboard. Don't believe me, look at Apple users. Another example: The same day I trained the AT&T Z10 specialist, before I was introduced to her, the employee who was with me at first was so unbelievably Samsung that after finding and showing me to the Z10 she IMMEDIATELY started bashing the Z10, admitting that she had NO KNOWLEDGE of the Z10, and PROMOTING the **** out of Samsung. Mind you, there was an iPhone right beside the Z10 so it wasn't an AT&T/iPhone thing (They're dropping the iPhone so what sense would that make?), it was about BELIEF. At the end of the day, the employees are carrying the devices they BELIEVE IN and this is what is going to come out of their mouths. Belief is what is going to ultimately bring Blackberry back to prominence.

I couldn't have said it better myself "winter_hat," "PATIENCE." #BB10believe

That might be the dumbest thing I ever read on CB.

So, to paraphrase, a company that hasn't been able to get out of it's own way for the last 3+ years, is intentionally mis-marketing their life saving device?

So the bad attitude is just by store because I went to yet another AT&T store today, I've been in and out of them all day ,trying to fix my dad's Samsung Infuse or get him an upgrade, and they had a Z10 in full glory in a glass case for the insurance but not one on display because they said they were waiting for the dummy phone. The attendant I talked to had a S3 and said she really liked the Z10 and just needed to play around with it more and had an overall great attitude over it and said as soon as the dummy phone came they'd be promoting it hard core! Also saw the Z10 in black proudly displayed at a Verizon kiosk

I hope if someone wants BlackBerry to notice posts like these that they'll actually include information about WHERE the store in question is.... kind of hard to get some light shining into the dark corners of AT&T promotion if nobody says where these stores are.

Unless there is something contractual that is being violated there is likely nothing blackberry can or will do. What is needed is just some time for BlackBerry 10 to catch on. Att pushes iphones because they've made them truckloads of money. Once blackberry 10 spreads and more folks come in asking for it I think it will get more favorable treatment.

    Hi all,
I went in a AT&T store in Salem NH on Wednesday to buy a different case for my Z10. To my surprise they had one "Case Mate" which I brought (nice case). The Z10 display was up front of the store but, when I asked about the Z10 the salesmam said "We have the Z10, but we have the LG (cannot remember the model) which you would like. I said I didn't ask about the LG and he said well there's no interest in the Z10. Then I pulled out mine and told him I was look for a case for it.
Oh how do you like it? He asked. I told him so far I love it. He then went on how everyone thinks BlackBerry is gone and too bad because it is a good phone.
It's like they are told not to sell the phone.
That's all, just has to vent.

Is blackberry working with the carriers on this issue? Something tells me that blackberry needs to get their sh*t together on the marketing end of things. I have seen very little if any advertising for the new Z10 anywhere!

You guys need to provide in which city these stores are. BlackBerry is week in the US, and the US is a huge market. BlackBerry and AT&T probably agreed to fragment the US market into small markets and concentrate where BlackBerry is strong.

Fairfax, Virginia (a suburb of Washington, DC). AT&T Corporate store. No advertising for the Z10. One functioning model in the back-right corner. Unable to speak about associate attitude because most conversations were in Spanish.

The two Z10 related transactions were mine, which was fine because I already owned the phone and was just moving from another carrier to AT&T.
    -and-
Another man who bought one after I talked to him about it for 10 minutes. I don't know that I sold it as he was already interested. In that case, the counter guy said it is a nice phone but nothing more.
