So I'm heading to the great north! And was wondering who would be the best carrier to get a local Sim for my Z10 while I'm up there- also do carriers offer unlocking? Any suggestions crackberry nation?

"Best carrier" is relative. The major players - Rogers, Bell, Telus - are pretty much all the same (and people cuss them out equally ). And yes, carriers do offer unlocking though I would suspect they do that for their branded phones and for a not-so-small fee. Many places offer unlocking service though and you can even do it yourself online if you are comfortable with that kind of thing.

You probably better to give us which area you are visiting. I'm not sure this is true but I've been told that Rogers is good in cities but for rural areas Telus works better. Just like in US, big 3 or little guys all have good & bad.
Telus will unlock your device if you are with them over 3 months with $30 fee.
So if you're just visiting short term, no luck there. Telus customer service is great from my experience. But again if you are short term visitor, it doesn't weigh on your decision much anyway.

Mont Tremblant specifically, and it's an AT&T Z10. I never thought through the unlocking thing beforehand, although I should have.

When I go to US, I get a plan thru Bell, when i'm down there I'm connected thru AT&T, so i'm guessing you might be best to go with Bell as they would be compatible with the Z10 you have I would think.
