learn something new everyday. This thread is a great read.
This was great. Thanks, I always wondered what level 1 was....and it was nice to read through a full thread without someone making a personal attack at what another member says.
Thank you Jeff. Another great tip and lesson. You rock. :D
Ooh, that was useful, thanks.
And this is why jeff rocks

Man I love CB. I've been wondering about Level 1 Messages for a while, and all I had to do was spend two seconds searching the forums. Thanks for all your help :-)
I hate to ask but what is BIS carrier's site and where do I find it?I'm with AT&T and I admit I don't get all this lingo sometimes. :)
sorry if the question is silly
You can find all the BIS sites here: http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/what...site-url-3187/

Im use BIS and can't find the Filter Sender you are talking about, and I went to my BIS on the internet and it only seems to be an option for just emails. Was hoping that it was a contact from my phone and not a contact from a email.
While logged on to the BIS website, when in your email account you must create a filter, enter in the email address you want to be level 1, then click the option to forward that email as level 1. It is not connected to your phone's contact list in any way.
What a helpful thread! I had no idea and now my voicemail messages appear in red. This is fabulous since I get so many messages these were getting burried. Now they stand out.
Thank you!
This was a great thread... Thank you so so much!
I am on a BES and I too cannot use Filter Sender to set someone to Level 1. Only filters I have are sent directly to me, cc to me, bcc to me, importance, sensitivity and action.
I cannot seem to set a contact to level 1.
Me too! Every time I messed with my sound profiles and I saw that, I thought "what the heck IS that?" LOL! Makes sense now, thanks for the responses, all.
Seems the only thing I can do is make PIN messages level 1 which seems like a complete waste because PIN messages have their own profile anyways.
ah - ha ! It appears I have to change the action to 'forward' just to be able to see the options for forward as level 1. When the default option is still on 'do not forward' the option is hidden.
I have been trying to set and alarm for notification of my voice mails, I have been told that Level 1 messages is the feature i need to choose in the profiles section?
Newbie share ... I learned you can create filters on your device if you don't want to create a BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) userid and password with your carrier to do this via browser. You do this directly on the device through email settings. On the Storm it is in Setup ... Email settings. Filters are a menu option, also a little symbol on the bottom menu bar that looks like a tilted number sign.
