Lazaridis said 7 devices this year.

    1: Bold touch
    2: Torch 2
    3: All Touch
    4: Curve

We can't include different network versions as separate model as that would already count to 8, adding 3 curve models announced today.

    So my guess is :

    5: Bold Touch 9790
    6: All touch curve Malibu
7: Curve Qwerty keyboard with touch display Orlando

    Any thoughts??

I feel the same way, except I'm confused about 7.

I would feel that the Bold 9790 would be that type of device. It would seem so repetitive to have 3 different curves.

Could it be a dumbed down QNX phone?

I'm really curious about that #7.

Thanks for posting. Do you have a link to the article/place you heard this though? Or was it just something Lazaridis said at one of the press conferences or BBW?

No QNX phones will not be dumbed down.Kevin already confirmed what Lazaridis had said many times before.Blackberry colt is a dual core 4.1 inch superphone.

There is a possibility that storm3 refresh which was scheduled to be released in 2010 could make an appearance this year.Because quite a few people like surepress. But I am unsure about this. Some analysts say that storm surepress technology will not be revived.

That means curve orlando is the only one left for #7.

No he said seven new smartphones. He said that in the AGM this year held in July.So Playbook isn't one of them.

We are hearing rumors that Colt could be out by end of the year.So let's see.Bold Touch 9790 is kind of confirmed as we have already seen leaked videos of it.

This would be the first time that one of the CEO's didn't follow through on his word............
Since he said it in July I am guessing he knows what he was talking about. He said Bold Touch will be released within a month and it was.I think they have more visibility with regards to smartphone launch.QNX playbook is a different story, as it's a new product and they never got enough time to bring it to market in a manner they would have preferred.

QNX was acquired in April 2010.To bring a tablet product within a year to Market is an astounding feat, even though it misses some features at launch.

Apple has been working at Ipad since early 2000s, as per Steve jobs interview to All Digital.

Woudn't you marvel at RIM's engineering capability that they produced something like playbook only in a year???

Well they had other devices to sort of get an idea what they're goal would be. Not to mention there were other unsuccessful tablets before the IPad. So yeah, they really were just playing catch up.
Although I have to agree, this is a very nice piece of hardware... now if they can double time the operating system updates now.

    So my guess is :

    5: Bold Touch 9790
    6: All touch curve Malibu
7: Curve Qwerty keyboard with touch display Orlando
The second one was called both Malibu and Orlando in the early leaks (gsm and cdma versions maybe?), there have been no consistent leaks about there being a qwerty curve with touch being planned and with the existence of the 9790 being definite it doesn't seem likely that we would see your #7 turn up at all since there would be too much overlap between the 9360 and the 9790 so it would just steal sales from one of those two.

I think that #7 is going to turn out to be something that Rim have so far managed to keep under wraps so far, maybe it will be the landscape slider that some people want or a larger-screen version of the 9860.

OS7 handsets... so any playbook, cyclone, or QNX superphone can be discounted from the lists

9850/9860 You've got listed as both Curve and Torch Touch.

    Could it be
    9930 Bold
    9850 Torch Touch
    9860 Torch Touch
    9810 Torch Slider
    GSM Curve
    CDMA Curve
    GSM/CDMA World Curve for Verizon

    That's 7 phones.

And releasing a 'half baked' QNX handset with no apps is going to do nothing to arrest the slide. They're better off to take their time and make sure any QNX handset they release contains so much concentrated awesome that it knocks everyone's socks off.

Realistically though, RIM is going to have a hard time getting any traction until they manage to take the focus off the size of their app store. Until then, it doesn't matter what they release, people are going to whine that the app selection sucks.

Maybe they are secretly revamping the Style and bringing a flip phone into the BB7 lineup, there would be a market for that.
