My blackberry was stolen yesterday and wondered if there is anyway for the phone to be killed if it is NOT on a BES? Does AT&T (my provider) have the ability to do this?

I believe they can turn off the sim, or whatever they do... but I would send an email, text or try calling your phone first. see if you can get it back. (not likely, I know.. worth a shot.)

Correct, there is no other way on BIS to kill the BB. Disabling the SIM by the carrier will keep calls and data from the app, but if you don't have it password protected, they thief will have access to whatever you had on it.

As Chaz stated, email or call and offer a reward for the BB.

As soon as I realized my phone was missing I gave a call and it went straight to voice mail. It's obvious the smacktard turned it off or removed the sim. I'll offer a reward of not destroying the guys face if he brings it back.
