Okay. Edit only works sometimes. Here's what else I wanted to add:
And try the "A" key again also. This time push it, but don't hold it.
Also, for these shortcuts to work, dial from home screen has to be disabled.

Should be able to hold the Mute key for 2 seconds and it'll go into standby, tap again to wake up. Used that all the time on my Pearl.
