Well, this could be interesting, newly uncovered kernel memory leak affects Intel, 64 bit ARM Linux, even MacOS (but not AMD, LOL!) with patches on the way soon apparently...

It is expected the upcoming patches are going to slow down CPU performance by an appreciable amount. I wonder how well BlackBerry's 'hardened kernel' will hold up?

Do any BB10 devices use a vulnerable SOC variant? The Priv does so it'll be interesting to see how it holds up.

It seems like every day it’s something different and is affecting this and that. I have come to the point I don’t even worry about it anymore.

Let those companies who are making billions creating these defective products stay up at night wondering how they are going to fix their problems. Not me.

I'm wondering about cordless phones using landlines..My daughters may have to revert to landlines with really long cords and conversations in kitchen pantry or laundry room.

What are these things you speak of? Landlines? Cordless Phones?

5%- 30% hit in performance, after the patch is a pretty big spread. And while some users won't be happy to see their PC performance take a hit. Telling big companies, especially those that are in the hosting business that they just potentially lost 30% of their business.

Need to make sure I don't still have any Intel stock in my portfolio.

Well at least Intel CEO made sure he sold all he could sell of his own stock before everybody else knew they were going to drop:

"Android devices running the latest security update, including Google’s Nexus and Pixel smartphones, are already protected. Updates are expected to be delivered soon. Users of other devices will have to wait for the updates to be pushed out by third-party manufacturers, including Samsung, Huawei and OnePlus."

I guess that answers my original question. Google to the rescue, as usual.
