I need to conserve memory on my berry. If I set options to keep messages for 3 months will it delete messages off of the the server too? I don't want to permanently lose messages just because I conserved memory on my phone.

I set mine to save forever and once i deleted them all i couldnt find a way to get them back. I would keep them all if i were you.

I want to keep them on the gmail server, not my berry.

oh.............. do they have a set limit on to how much memory it can hold

I select the ones I want to delete and choose handheld only and that accomplishes what we want, but I would like to know how the auto delete works too.

I just keep them "forever" and go through deleting what I don't need. Eventually I just delete all together. As long as you have a memory card the messages don't eat up that much of the device memory.
