Which makes me ask why? Why hasn't BlackBerry made a phone that's light-weight ? I remember when someone opened a thread about this, they shot him with stupid comments.

Its the much larger batter than the z10 has. Batteries are dense. There is a trade off for having better battery life.
It's actually not that heavy I don't find, it fits quit nicely in my hands, I like the weight make you feel like your actually holding a phone, but that's just me.

That's exactly what I thought , not something frail like a Samsung S3 or S4

There's that word again. "Heavy." Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the Earth's gravitational pull?

I haven't had the pleasure of holding a Classic just yet, but I would imagine that it's a lot lighter than my Passport. Then again, it's not like carrying a dumbbell around. It's not "heavy" as much as it's solid and feels like I'm actually holding something in my hand.

Heavy is good...

Surprisingly, it is not a LOT lighter than the PP - It is lighter but not a LOT lighter.
Everything's relative. The Passport is heavier than other devices, which you can expect from a phone of its size. I haven't held the Classic yet, but I can imagine it being 'heavy' if it's about the same size as the Z30 and the same weight as the Passport. Whether that is good or bad is subjective.
Pushing or pulling weights can also be 'heavy', depending on what you're used to. Having said that, I think it takes some getting used to if the Classic is heavier than one would expect. But is that a deal breaker? I can't imagine it is unless you're making a choice and you need an excuse because you're leaning towards another device ;)
So OP, enlighten us. Are you rocking the Classic? Is it a deal breaker for you? Have you gotten used to it? Are you gonna use another phone instead?

"Heavy"? ....
" I do not think that word means what you think it means. "
I actually think the weight feels good. It makes the Classic feel rugged and robust and that you're just holding up a piece of air.
I have the Classic, and we have a Q10, Z10 and Samsung G5 in our home. The Classic is heavier than the rest but not SOOO heavy. It sits quite solidly in ur hand and is a joy to use. The S5 feels so lightweight and the plasticky feel really stands out vs the Classic.

I would rather a "heavier" device than a device that I am scrambling to find a charger mid-day.
2 days with my Passport.

Yes, I now need rotator cuff surgery because of my Classic. LOL.

Really is your going to winge over a couple of extra grams it's Definitely time to hit the gym.

So... the s5 has a 2800mAh battery and only weighs 145g but the classic has a 2515mAh battery and is 177g.... doubt battery is to blame.
For reference the q10 has a 2100mAh and weighs 139g. If BlackBerry wanted they could get the device weight down to the 145+, 150g region. ....
