- Welcome to the wonderful world of BlackBerry! I remember how I felt the first time I started with BlackBerry when I got my 8330 Curve and couldn't put it down! I have gone through the ranks and although the iPhone and Android devices have their good points as well IMO nothing beats a Berry in terms of reliability and quality. Some people may say that RIM is behind in software and design and that's ok bcz when you are the best everyone likes to take shots at you...lol. I have the 9700 now and am anxiously waiting for T-Mobile to release OS 6 and that is the only improvement my Berry needs so welcome to BlackBerry and CrackBerry as well! This is THE BEST source for anything/everything BlackBerry so you made out great in both area's. Welcome aboard!

I got the Sprint 9330 and am very pleased with it. I have already decided that next oct. when I can upgrade again I am sticking with blackberry.
Two of my family members were eligible for upgrades and when I brought my new blackberry home they said, "I don't want a blackberry" two minutes after handling mine they were headed to the sprint store to get their own blackberry. and I have to other family members anxiously awaiting their upgrade date so they too can get blackberry's.
There are some excellent apps out there but without knowing your interests it is hard to recommend many.
Free apps
1. Poynt
2. Sccope
3. Bolt - although if you have OS6 you don't need this as the webkit browser in OS6 is as good or better than bolt.
4. medical diary - keep all your medical info and insurance info
5. Berry weather
6. Flixster
Paid
1.Quicklaunch- after using this I consider it a must have.
Berry weather and Poynt are excellent apps, and they are definite musts! Especially if you have BB OS6, Poynt integrates with the universal search feature very well.
Other apps you definitely want to download are, google maps, viigo(unless your on OS6), Tweet Genius (if you use twitter), and the Crackberry luncher12-26-10 11:27 PMLike 0 - Don't forget to download the amazon music app.

- Everybody considers different apps important for their own needs. I, for instance, do everything on my Storm. Come to think of it, the only use I have for my PC is to check out the CB forums. Unfortunately, the Storm wasn't graced by greater than or equal to 256MB, therefore, my space is limited and any additional strain I put on it, like using the wapforums will send the phone into reboot mode. Anyway, I highly recommend Poynt. This app allows you to look up movie times, business and personal phone #s as well as addresses, different restaurants and even stuff on the web. If you like to keep tabs on your financial accounts (bank, credit card, even flight itinerary), I highly recommend Pageonce. This app is amazing and accurate. Quicklaund is a must as well. This app allows you a much faster access to your favorite things (App World, Bluetooth Toggler - very convenient - etc...). Lastly, I highly recommend QuickPull. This app reboots your phone automatically at a time indicated by you. When you first set up this app, it will ask you if you want to schedule a reboot. Mine is set to 7am, so when I wake up in the morning, my phone is recharged and like new again, with all of the memory leaks gone from the day before.
Hope this helps.
P.S. If you're in the market for a weather app, my personal favorite is BeWeather. It's pricey, so if you want something free, try BeWeather Free.12-27-10 04:03 AMLike 0 -
- Hi everyone - I guess this was the Christmas for Blackberry. We added 2 to our household - One for me and one for my college student daughter. We migrated from the Iphone3g and att to the 9650 from sprint (my son went to android). I don't know if this this the correct place to ask for help .... but .... we are confused about the scan thing .... where you can scan the barcode of other blackberries to add as a contact .... where is it??? where is my barcode?? Is this an add on program i get from the bb store or is it already on the phone??? Any help would be appreciated.12-27-10 11:35 AMLike 0
- Player for YouTube - watch YouTube vids; better interface than the mobile site
Shazam - get info on a song that's playing
Google Maps - map app
Dictionary.com - standalone dictionary and thesaurus app; doesn't use the browser
Amazon - standalone mobile shopping app; doesn't use the browser
Capture It - takes a picture of the screen
BePopUp (free version) - a popup appears of the email or text message so you don't have to exit whatever you're doing to read and reply to it then go back to the app you were in
- Take another BlackBerry and go to BBM, go down to scan barcode, put one BlackBerry over the other like you're trying to take a picture of it (a little demo of this should show up on the phone)
- You edit the contact info in my profile in BBM12-27-10 12:39 PMLike 0 - Player for YouTube - watch YouTube vids; better interface than the mobile site
