With the holidays coming up, I thought I'd post this a bit early. March 30th is the one year anniversary for the death of RIM... or as predicted by the wonderful folks at BGR...

"The RIM we know, is dead. The company has 12 to 15 months until its either acquired, or broken into pieces and sold for parts. Im not even sure why the company still plans to launch BlackBerry 10 smartphones at this point."

Maybe it will still happen, but what a difference a year makes!!

For a company that's dead, there seems to be a lot of interest in earnings report tomorrow and the new products.

The big day is one day away ! My view is a better than expected earnings report and a delayed stock rally as the stunned investment community collects itself and realizes the terrible mistake it was to take "short positions" . My view is a stock price of $20.00 to $22.00 after the report but will get beaten down as the dark forces go to work and pick apart the better than expected earnings report in an attempt to drive the stock down for profit. Whether or not they can do this depends on how many buy up the stock after the report and offset the effects. In my view there may well be a big surprise for those having "long" positions and that it will be well worth the wait and the anguish over the ups and downs and "buy low traps".

BGR wasn't the only one. Techno Buffalo, CNET, and Engadget also posted stories that RIM would fall apart before the launch of BB10.

    RIM is dead
One thing to note, the article quoted by the OP was from March 30th, 2012 - almost a year ago. The factors then was that a new blackberry phone had not been released for a year and that Z10 had not even come out yet. Conditions more than a year later are much different.

These guys write for hits. For Apple and Android its a fad, what's hot and what's not. Ready to write off anything that isn't up to what they consider good.

So no matter how many death certificates folk try to write for BBRY, they gonna have to shove down their own throats cause the company is here to stay.

The joke I have now is, the death warrants are over, now I hear complaints that the phones are nice but they don't have apps, so that's the big backhand they have. No apps, pff. give BBworld a chance.

In the coming months we shall see how many join the BBRY bandwagon.

    All hail http://m.youtube.com/?reload=2&rdm=m...?v=IqpZjC1IXts

    It's an outdated report?

Not sure about tech analysts but it's so common for stock analysts to flip their calls, by the way. Even top ranked analysts can get their calls wrong. How many have we seen that are actually solid in their calls, most I see upgrade on the stock, after the price has already run.
