OK people, I had a problem. I spent a horrible night on Thursday night. I made the mistake of selling my personal 'berry to Saudi Arabia, and though I had three others inbound, none of them had arrived yet.
In the name of customer service, I shipped off the SA package. And promptly broke out in a cold sweat.
I suffered through the night with my eyes dripping, staring at a lame Nokia 6555, and resenting the fact that I'm such a nice guy. It cut me to the core, let me tell you.
Friday AM I woke up and began scouring Craigslist, trying to find a berry....any berry. I met up with a chick at 8:30AM, but she was selling an 8300, not an 8310 as advertised. Since she wanted a silly $300 for it, I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
Later that day I broke down and txted a guy with an 8800 and no cables, charger, etc, etc.....can you say stolen?
Then I finally met up in a Barnes & Noble parking lot with a guy who had a BlackJack II, brand new, and with shaking fingers I shelled out the cash he wanted for it. At least learning to dislike WM6 again gave me something to do.
Oh, flash back to Thursday, when I realized I would be berryless for a bit....I called up ATT and added a line to my account; all to get a crimson 8310 shipped overnight. When I bought the BJ I was mere hours away from possessing the 8310.
Got home with my brand new BJII, and was OK playing with it for a while; typing is good, it's pocketable, and most importantly it has 3G. So I surfed HTML for a while. ASAP, I unboxed the 8310 and set it up.....aaaahhhh....the hero1n in my veins, to have a BB back. Got some push email set up, restored all my "stuff", and was OK. Until my wife saw the Crimson color. She said, "Can I have that if we sell my RAZR2?" She's pregnant with our 3rd child. So, I made quite the sacrifice; I said, "Sure, honey." My brain was about to melt down.
I wiped the 8310 and loaded her SIM, etc. Today I was berryless again for a few hours, until the mailman showed up with a new 8320. Unfortunately it's locked, and the unlock code should be here by midnight Pacific Time.
Holy crap I'm an addict. This is worse than back in the day when I had to give up other things.

Pray for me, people. Pray hard. At least my wife is home and I can play on "her" 8310. Sheesh......I've got it bad. Oh, and the 8320 at least has Wi-Fi to surf with until my unlock code arrives.

Anyone want to buy a BlackJack II? Perfect condition, been used for a matter of a couple hours, and the plastic is still on it.

    Sharing sorrow,
    -Eric

Lolz, I thought I had issues.

I've decided to part with my 8320 and 8800. 8320 to my lil Sis who's graduating from UAB to prevent her from buying a toy sidekick. Since the 8800 hasn't sold, the first family member or close friend who shows interest will be the new owner. Picking up another 8310 for a backup this week to prevent going through anything like you experienced. I went cold turkey for two weeks after loosing my dash, never again.

Could be six, could be ten....at the moment, the Tuesday count is guaranteed to be four, thanks to niczummo.

That doesn't count the BlackJack, of course.

As for my wife, what am I supposed to do....poor lady has morning sickness 24/7, and I seriously feel for her. At least most of the time I can get up and hit the computer to check my email.

I should write for Kevin's book. Holy crap....looking over my post......yeah I agree, I've got it bad.

    -Eric

PS. This is the wife who threatened to divorce me if I didn't use my BB like a "normal" person. Whatever the #@!! that means! (and I think she was just posturing.....)

I'm confused as to why you guys go through all these different BB's?

@Eric...why did u sell ur BB when it seems you didn't have one already set up??

@conmetal...what's wrong with ur 8320 and 8800 that makes the 8310 anybetter?

Sorry if I missed something...but I TOTALLY agree, I would ::die:: before handing my BB to anybody lol

    Take care,

    Phenyx,

conmetal, cj, and I (and others I'm sure, such as kwes) have a disease called BerryCommitmentPhobia. It's in the DSM IV, under 621.34; look it up.
Basically it is the lack of ability to commit to any one single berry for more than three days at a time. After that, the bloom is off the rose and the GPS you thought you were going to use in your 8310 just _had_ to be supplemented by the wi-fi of the 8820, but then the lack of a camera when you caught a fish <==> that big made you start to look at Pearls, but then you stumbled on a great deal for a Ti 8320 which had the wi-fi and camera, and ohlookcrackberryishavingasaleon keychain GPS modules so I can have the best of three worlds, but then since 4.3 and 4.5 have been leaked does wifi really do all that for me, and this Ti is getting boring why don't we get a Crimson 8310 and while we're at it might as well get a Gold 8320, what's that you're looking for an 8820? well I've got one on my desk that I haven't used since I needed the curve camera so sure I'll give you a good deal; matter of fact I'll ship it second day air for no additional charge and we can both be happy, oh was that me who put the Ti 8320 up onto eBay? darn weak USD; makes the BBs attractive to saudi arabia, you're willing to pay WHAT for me to ship my personal curve to you? OK, but I'm going to go through cold sweats tonight.......

    And the cycle repeats itself.

Granted I'm speaking for myself, but there are a few of us on here who can chime in if you feel the same. Maybe my doctor will prescribe something for it.

    Lovin' the BB,
    -Eric

@conmetal...what's wrong with ur 8320 and 8800 that makes the 8310 anybetter?

eak.... pretty much summed it up. I have both the 8320 & 8310 sync'd exactly the same; apps, games & etc. The 8310's EDGE out performs the 8320's EDGE & WiFi hands down now that they are both running Beta 4.5 OS. I also love having GPS on hand. Before you say why not buy a GPS puck before the 8310, well I bought the 3 Day old 8310 for nearly what a GPS puck cost - $100. Purchased it from a local AT&T customer who had some issues with his job adding a personal phone to their BES. He just wanted what he paid for the upgrade back and he continued using his previous phone (local store wouldn't honor the 14 day or whatever guarantee because he had applied for the rebate and tossed the box). I have the slave phone service; internet, satellite treo so no need for Wifi/UMA at the moment. The 8800 was an impulse buy from a beautiful exec. who upgraded to a 8310; I wanted to make a pass at her, but kept it strictly business for respect of the BB. I wanted it primarily for GPS, but bought the 8310 two days later

Also purchased and resold a Crimson 8310. The owner couldn't live with the three small nicks it gained after falling from a desk. Sold it to a CB user who would appreciate it and prevent further neglect.

    Sorry for the threadjack eak.....

carry on....please share amongst yourselves. You guys are my lifeline at the moment; since my code didn't come in last night, I am still in the middle of a nightmare BJ. Nice HTML and 3G, though.

    ack! what am i saying!

Quick update.....hanging myself by the cord of a BJ didn't work, so I'm still here.
In order to make the tagline/sig at the bottom of this post true, I am wappin' wi-fi style from an 8320. What's my next step? Waitin' for an unlock code is pure torture. I want instant gratification.
Maybe I should go down to TMO and sign up for a plan....or Verizon....nah, mebbe back to Craigslist.

    Seeya,
    E

PS. Kevin if you're reading this thread, feel free to put it in the book.
