Hello there. I have a blackberry storm 9530 that is with the bell network. I have recently unlocked the cell phone and it will not read my virgin mobile sim card. I thought that bell and virgin work on the same network? Could anyone give me a hand please?

It does run on the same network, However the 9530, 9550, 8830, 9630 although they have SIM slots they do not support 3G while on a GSM setting. Bell, Telus and Virgin including the new carriers, all do not have an EDGE/2G network to allow the phone to work on the network.
Main reason behind this is that the 9530 is originally a CDMA phone and only meant to run SIM cards when global roaming overseas
You can only use the unlocked 9530 on Rogers and Fido within Canada

In Canada, Virgin has a 3G HSPA network that will work with any currently 3G phones in the market
