You're right. I wonder if it's a typo. Like they just copied the feature list from the other 8300 series and pasted it, forgetting to change that one thing.
That would be my guess simple using the general page and not checking to make sure it's accurate to the specs...since the rumors were more memory for the 8330 it's probably safe to assume the 96MB is correct.
Even though I just got the Pearl a few months back I may have to take a look at the Curve when Alltel begins carrying it.
I didn't want to say it can't be done... All it is, is a memory chip on the circuit board. Technically you probably could, with a lot of effort, remove it and sodder a bigger chip in place.
I emailed RIM a couple days ago regarding this issue. Here is their response.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting BlackBerry Customer Support. We are pleased to assist you.
I am following up on the case id RQST00004874022, wherein you inquire about the built-in memory and the flash memory of the BlackBerry Curve 8330.
By design, the BlackBerry Curve 8330 comes with a 64MB of built-in memory. As for the 96MB of flash memory it is a typographical error on our Website. I will revert back to our development team to correct the issue.
Please refer to the link below for the more accurate info.

So unfortunately, it sounds like the 8330 doesn't have more memory.
