There is a lot of discussion on which OS is better...but it is all ex bb10 users switching to android. I have been using android for years, so now I am going to go pick up a Leap to try out bb10.

OS wise bb10 is better OS wise I'm not talking about unlimited apps and this and that just as a pure OS BlackBerry is better.

I've always wanted one! But I was going to wait for the android version. Ok I am going to see...I would rather have a pkb anyway.

Also you need to take into consideration all the BlackBerry shortcuts that exist if your using a pkb phone. You need to really use it for a good couple of months to get used to everything it offers.

Passport is the best bb10 device out there but if the size is too big for you get the classic.

Z30 is the best. Leap is lower power and doesn't have NFC.

Ok while at the store I asked them how the Priv was selling and they said very well...and attributed it to being android. They just sold their last one in stock and get about 3 in a week.

My first impressions of bb10? Very intuitive...nice tutorials for the swipe gestures.
My first impressions of the Passport? Wow. I really hope they come out with an android version so the masses get to experience this keyboard
Attached Thumbnails I'm going to try bb10 for the first time.-20151213_143235.jpg   I'm going to try bb10 for the first time.-img_20151213_1448262.png

OK just taking the keyboard for a test run. Right away I like having the, ':!?. buttons and the numbers all in a row on the top.

The passport is a great phone the kb will take a few weeks getting used to because of the layout but it's a dream to use once you master it also don't forget the gestures of the keyboard swipe left to delete a word pinch to zoom amongst a ton of other things.

I am finding bb10 a bit tedious at browsing the internet so far...but I am used to android so I will give it some time. Also it is a bit choppier, and not as quick to respond to my actions. It is currently doing some updates so we shall see if that makes a difference.

Update: It turns out the choppiness mentioned was being caused by the crackberry forum...now using the app it's smooth. Browsing experience is no longer tedious now that I have become more familiar with swipe gestures and the overall functions.

Space bar to scroll t to take you to the top of a page b to take you to the bottom there's more shortcuts I can't remember right now by using the kb. Also keep in mind that if you just took it out of the box it needs to settle.

Thanks for doing this Mark. Also truly look into what the Base OS does on its own, without extra apps. Including file attachments, editing, file management, calendar, etc and give Blend a chance.
There's not much BB10 can't do. And what it does do, it does very well.

I've had a BB10, iPhone and now a Priv with Android. BB10 is the best OS, iPhone is a Mac ... Will do 85% of what you want and you accept it because the packaging is so slick and the experience is smooth because it's a closed hardware and software ecosystem. Android is a blend of Linux and PC, anyone can write anything for it, it's very flexible but has the corresponding complexity and disjointed feel to it until it's setup exactly how you want.

I wish you had got a z30. Bb10 was designed with touch intended to be the primary input method. It's great on their passport and the passport is a great phone but if you want to see bb10 at its absolute best it's on the z30 in my opinion. In addition, it would be more of an apples to apples comparison given the importance of touch on the priv

OK battery almost dead...getting the hang of browsing now...and the different swipe gestures. I can say already that if I needed to do a lot of typing this keyboard would be a must for me. Don't get me wrong the Priv has a great keyboard...but you can only do so much with the size limitations.

Ok phones is charging. I know I have heard some comments about the Priv lacking a lot of bb10's architecture, but I have to disagree. I see bb10's fingerprints all over the Priv. Had I come from my s5 to the passport I would have had a lot more trouble. The setup was basically the same. I am already familiar with the hub...and the keyboard with tracking...the swipe gestures. It really is a comfortable transition from bbdroid to bb10.
