Can anyone help me out?

I have enabled my phone to receive my mail from my hotmail account and new messages arrive just as they should. The problem is that old email that I have already read (several months ago) that is still in my hotmail account - is being sent to my phone as new messages. 2 here, 9 more there, a few more the next day... totally random.

Is there a way to tell my BB to NOT send read emails from my hotmail to my phone?

The options in the phone use some jargon I am not hip with.

you can always delete your read emails, or move them to different folder, eg : draft.
