The Bold 9780 is virtually Canada's version of the USA's Bold 9650. Similar specs, and were made for the same thing - OS6, despite the USA having the 9780 also.
I think that with the LTE storm coming out, RIM realized that they would have to completely fix the 9570 or skip it. And the only way to fix the 9570 is to put QNX on it.
I'm still sticking to my theory that the 9570 is finished hardware-wise, but RIM's working on QNX for it.
It may have been bumped up a little bit to a 800mhz processor, but it wil definitely be placed as a midrange device, like the Curve and Pearl.
all of RIMs devices are low to mid range when you compare them to the competition...
I noticed blaze hinted to this issue in the latest podcast when Kevin talked about how the Bold 9780 was so awesome but then how scrapping the Storm 9570 was the best move rim could do. He said something to the affect of "then why the Bold for that matter." it was brushed off and the discussion kept on going but that little part caught my attention and I dont excuse RIM for having a crappy upgrade just because of the amazing form factor.
If I'm not mistaken, wasn't it Verizon who actually scrapped the Storm? If so, then RIM is not to blame for this. Also, I'm not sure why, but the 9780 has my attention, and I'm on a 9700.
