If someone delets the BBM program off of an iPhone how does this show up on another person's phone?

I have a friend that says he is going to delete the BBM program of of his phone. What does this do to the contact listing on my phone? Does BBM still recognize this contact as valid? Would the contact picture disappear?

The contact picture still says that this person is available. What does that mean?

It'll show them until you try to talk to them or you wipe your device, generally. When you try to chat with them, it will ask if you wish to readd them.

if delete the app, when your contacts try to message you for them it'll say it can deliver.
