I admire the passion of the BlackBerry community but we have had an influx of these renaming threads. BlackBerry will always remain BlackBerry /RIM with the general consumers. I for one prefer and choose the brand. What needs to change is the public perception and the media is a good place to start with. PR, carrier intervention and marketing, which has also been brought up hundreds of times, is what needs to be done more.

I think they need to appeal to young people, so the most effective rebranding would reflect childhood interests. I propose "Play Doh". This of course would require them to team up with the manufacturer of the iconic toy.


Play Doh phone.
Play Doh tablet.
Play Doh 1.0.0.1 (os).

And, of course, for the business world:

Play Doh Mobile Device Management.
