How do I access other folders in my e-mail other than my Inbox? After I read e-mails at work I move them to the appropriate folder, but can't access them from my BB
our you on a interprise server?? secondly are you referring to on your computer you have the folders organized. ie:work, fun, personall?? and when you recieve an email into the inbox you than place it into the appropriete folder but are not able to view in your phone?
I assume you are using only the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS), not the Blackberry Enterprise Service (BES) for big corporation.
The answer is no. Blackberry only pushes emails arriving into Inbox to your phone. BIS has no link to your email folders or historic emails. What email ISP do you use, there are other work around solutions?
We are not on the Enterprise Server. We use a small business server (my e-mail address is "xxxx@ourcompany name") & I think when I set up my e-mail with the help of Verizon (my phone service provider) she said I was using the Outlook something.
I had a different phone for a week or so that I paid the $10 per month fee to get the Corporate mail & it gave me access to all of my folders, so I thouhgt my BB would do it also.
Not quite enough details from yet.
I am guessing your company is using Microsoft Exchange for email service. Did only way to find out is just call your IT department.
Please explain the $10 and phone thing, what kind of phone.
It was a Samsung Rogue & Verizon offered a $10/month package to get Corporate e-mail. We are using MS Exchange & the gal called it Outlook Web Access as the way I am receiving my company e-mail.
I jsut create different folders for different projects I am working on, but once I move them whan at my desk I can no longer view them from my BB....
That is correct you no longer (or actual never) were able to see the folders with your BB runing BIS. Since your company doesn't use BES, you cannot add the $15/mo BES service to your account. You have three options if you must have that feature.
1. Change phone
2. Suscribe to AstraSync service $45/year AstraSync - BlackBerry ActiveSync Compatibility - Sync BlackBerry to an Exchange ActiveSync Server
3. Use your BB browser to access folders and historic emails on your phone.
Thanks for your help !!!
You will not get subfolder mailbox support with a RIM product without a BES server on the backend or a 3rd party service like AstraSync. If you buy an ActiveSync capable phone (iPhone, WinMobile phones, or Android phone), you'll have full mailbox wireless sync and instant email to your phone. Sorry, that's just the way it is in Blackberry land. Sorry you were misinformed on what Blackberry can and cannot do. One of the many reasons I don't belive RIM's properly advertising their phones currently. It misleads a lot of people to believe they'll have instant and complete email on their Blackberries, when in fact, they won't.
Yay! Search ftw, its good to have the answer to this. Just to clarify. If I currently use my outlook inbow to auto sort mail from a certain email group to another folder(client rule), will it get pushed to my phone using OWA? It does hang in my inbox till I open outlook again.
I ask this because the company does not allow personal blackberrys on the network and I'm not quite high enough to get a corp blackberry
