I don't understand it and I am getting mixed reviews. It could be because I have not been well, but any simple clarification would be great

I was told by tmo that there is a way to backup 3rd party apps so I don't need to wait til I get my new 9700 cause I hate to download again

Then RIM said NO, there is no. i.e. until John C 's way was found.

I forgot seeing that a couple of years ago

Now when I choose that method of backing up 3rd party apps, moving the file, and then exiting, what do I do in a couple of weeks when I get the new phone and want those apps in there.

Could it be possible for anyone to explain it basically clearly for someone like me who has a hard time with it.

    thank you very much

open desktop manager, select Application Loader, hit start on Add/Remove Applications and then choose Browse. When you backed up using Device Switch, it should've created a folder with your pin number. In that folder is a file named [pin].alx where [pin] is your blackberry pin. Select that file. Then just check the apps you want.
