The title says it all. I miss the option of just tapping anywhere on the screen to take a picture. Wished they kept this. Anyone else miss this feature on the 10.2??? SMILE!!!

I don't think that feature was differentiating Blackberry from other devices. Most people probably didn't even use it or weren't aware it was there.

Take pictures by pressing volume up/down button!! Not satisfied yet, you can take pictures by pressing SPACE BAR as well

Most people probably didn't even use it or weren't aware it was there.

Tough to miss with a z series. You figured it out the first time you touched the screen. The only other way to take a pic was with the volume rocker.

I miss this feature. It was nice just being able to tap anywhere.

But on the Passport, I just hit the space bar and it also takes pictures that way so I don't really mind.

I miss the touch anywhere on the screen to take the pic too. Why they couldn't have just added this freeze/fire on the screen method as an 2nd option for those who prefer that is beyond me. Even my Olympus camera gives me that option.

I have given my trusty Z10 to several people to take pictures and almost always had the same reaction:
How do I take a picture? It doesn�t work?!? It is now only focusing.... what a crappy phone....

Without the Volume buttons, it would have been just a nightmare for most.


It is just sad that they didn't make it a setting for those who loved the 'easy' way of tapping anywhere to take a picture..... As it seems, we were too smart... :can't watch:

I don't get this. I never had that problem. I always just handed someone the phone with the camera open and ready and just told them to tap anywhere on the screen to take a picture. No one seemed to have a problem understanding those simple instructions.

I too never had a problem with people taking my pics and telling them just tap anywhere on the screen. Also I don't like taking selfies with other using the front camera because of lower pixel. So being able to take pics using the back camera it's easier to take it by tapping anywhere.....oh well I guess I'll just have to deal with it!!! SMILE!!!

For a moment I missed it too, until I noticed I can set the focus by pressing anywhere on the screen, then take the picture by pressing the picture-taking button on the screen.

We still have 3 ways to take a picture, 2 if you have no keyboard. So I don't really miss it. I've had to get used to some new ways to do things with 10.3.1 but after using them and getting used to them, I like them better.
