I have a Curve 8520, and my bright-spark friend decided to take my blackberry battery out and start peeling the case off it.. So it is now silver (shiny).

I then come home and I tried to turn my phone on and it turned on within 10 minutes (my phone takes ages to re-start anyway) and it was on for 2 minutes... Then it switched off for no reason? I had full battery!?

Do you think taking the cover off my battery caused this?

Thanks for reading this, Really need to know !

the cover meaning the protective 'BlackBerry' cover? unless it is leaking acid or exposing stuff or getting hot i doubt that has a thing to do with it. it's no different than peeling the 'duracell' wrapping off of a AA battery. you get a shiny battery but nothing more

Maybe taking the cover off (kind of a dumb idea don't you think?) was enough to make it not fit tight anymore try sticking a business card or something on top of it and put the cover on.
