Ok I am very confused someone please enlighten me. So as far as I know whenever you do a backup with BB link if you have any android APK's installed (I install them through SNAP) it doesnt back up any android apps besides the ones through BB world of course however the strangest thing just happened. I just back up my phone before I installed the latest BlackBerry OS 10.2.1.2947 (Autoloader so it started clean) and upon restoring it my android APK games and save data has been restored and usually they go away when I restore it since BB Link doesn't back up APK's through other sources than bb world. Has there been a recent update with BB link that now backs up APK's??!?!? If so this is truly a miracle....please someone enlighten me!!

Could be a new thing with the OS and not link itself.

I am not sure at all I wonder if the previous OS i was on which was 2234 with the 2235 radio allows a back up of android apps but I am thinking it was to do with BB link or you could be right with it being a new thing with the OS itself.......I am amazed by this and so happy because one thing with backing up and restoring through BB link it never use to back up android APK's at all that you install besides BB world of course....

Where did you get the android app through BB world or Snap?

By the way sideloaded bar files never back up through link since its sideloaded and not truly installed by BB 10 itself...

This morning when the leak hit the site. Backed up with BBlink and restored. I used the autoloader so it wiped everything. Totally surprised when the android app appeared on my screen, even more surprised when I opened it up and all of the data was all there! The app is KeepApp, it is similar to social scope. Facebook, Twitter & Instagram in one feed.

That is exactly what i want to know!!!!! What there an update in BB link that allows APK to be backed up? Or is it something to do with the recent leak??? But how would the leak know what you had before....that wouldnt make sense.....I don't know of a recent BB link update......as even last week I did this and it restore my android apps.....or is it that BB link always backed up APK's but because of the version of the OS you are on it allows APK's to be restored...I am so confused........I want to know the answer LOL i am so happy right now

Maybe the backed up ones are the ones downloaded apk from snap? The ones saved in the downloads folder? if you don't delete it after installation it will stay there.

In the past whenever I installed a leak and wiped it clean and restored the back up it wouldn't restore any apk downloaded from snap at all but now with this version of the OS it did so I'm wondering how was it done?!? What different about this OS that allows it plus some apk where downloaded and installed by a aptoide app store as well

With Snap, you can also choose where to save the. Apk file. I put them on my SD card and just re install them. But if this leak actually keeps that would be a move in the right direction. Now to get Google services working, if the OP is right, I'm gonna get this leak.

Trust me it does back it up completely and gets restored. I have the z30 just like you as well and one more thing I noticed opening and closing apps and folder and navigation has improved as well . This seems like an awesome build to be honest and of course comes with the new bbm.

Tested the 10.3 leak this weekend; android app did not restore so that rules out BB link. It had to come from the OS.

Same thing t happened to me. I switched to another Z30 yesterday and all my APKs came.

I don't care how or why it happened, but thank goodness it did happen. Re-downloading those apps are a pain.
