[CrackBerry Question]

have done a hard reset of my blackberry and going through the steps to set it up again. The anti theft protection is requiring a user id and password. I have prior to the hard reset have change my id and password and do not remember the old id and password. The message I am getting is the following: The blackberry protect anti theft function is on. Please sign in with the id that was used to set this up. I do not know it. What do I do now?

i believe you have to know the first id that was used to set up the phone. Or the phone is useless....hope someone can give you some phone-saving advice!

Nothing you can do unless you figure out what the user name and password is.

You should have disabled BlackBerry Protect prior to wiping your device, since you've changed your ID. Now the only option for you, is to contact customer support at blackberry and ask them to help you and be ready to provide them with the prove off ownership. Good luck.

If the phone is under warranty and you are the registered owner.. you could try contacting BlackBerry support for help.
