I am using Blackberry 9780, and would like to inquire if ..its fine if i load any OS in it? I live in UAE, Dubai. so if i load a OS which is much more new and upgraded than my service providers or from my currently installed (default when bought separately form retail shops) is it fine or will it cause some problems wid my carrier.

Example: I am use Etisalat , iin Dubai. and i download Vodafone/T-mobile.. is it fine??

Any OS written for the 9780 is fine. Remove the vendor.xml file and all should be well.

Yes, but definitely remove all files titled vendor or it won't install. Good luck and post in the 9780 forum if you run into any problems. Good luck!

Like they said above, make sure it's for your device and delete vender.xml. Be sure that you're running a Windows PC also. This can't be done from a Mac.

    The 'usual' vendor.xml file is located at C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research In Motion/AppLoader

You may also have a 'hidden' vendor file on your PC, so read this to find it... http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...ations-483268/

Also, a BlackBerry without a BIS data plan is just a brick. You might want to reconsider that
