I dont know who else noticed last night, on every news channel broadcasting the ball dropping, all the RIM advertisements!! as an avid blackberry user this makes me happy haha... RIM CEO's finally made a smart decision by advertising on NYE where the volume of viewers is greater than the superbowl... Pat on the back RIM .. keep it up.. now al, they habe to do is release OS 2.0 and BB10 phones asap and were set!!

I don't consider this a come back at all. This shows signs that they understand they need to market more. A come back can be declared if these advertisements help them to sell more devices and they can get more subscribers/marketshare in the US.

Not knocking the effort but a missed opportunity to also show their other products being used like the 9850, others, or even the PB showing the Ball Dropping on the screen itself. Not complaining mind you just commenting that they could have also shown other models being used.

About these BB Bold Commercials...I find it appalling that they display about 3 minutes of advertisement for the 9810 and maybe a 15 second one for the Bold.

I heard a Bold commercial the other day and when I looked up, the AD was just finishing. I have never been able to catch the whole commercial because it is just too quick.

well in regard to saying you wonder if the advertisements will succeed and they will gain market share etc.. personally, since they have been showing respect to the blackberry brand again, I feel as though my playbook and 9930 just got THATT much better.

Yeah I agree. Soon enough we will see if the advertising worked.
I did enjoy all the Blackberry ads

It's a start, but a little late. OS7 has been out for quite a while now, I don't know if the money spent to sponsor that 1 hour will actually succeed in selling significantly more devices. At this point I think the big news will be BBX.

The best thing they could have run for a commercial was someone getting lost in that crowd, using wikitude & holding their blackberry up to find them. Talk about marketing your device, that sure as heck woulda done it

The 99xx Bolds are on all 4 major US carriers now I do believe. And it is the flagship device. I am sure they are trying to not dilute the message.

I agree, the 9850 would be a great device to pull the younger crowd to BB. The Bold is a good device but the small screen is a turn off for many users.

I agree it's a start, but the comeback will start when the numbers are shown (depending on if they increase or not).

Definitely good to see RIM putting effort into advertising.

I agree, I hope they showcase this great touch screen device, which is what everyone wants nowadays,on super Sunday. But they should also be creative ads, I saw this really good one by Windows Phone yesterday that really gives a glimpse of that OS and its capabilities.
