    Hi All

Our company recently gave us all new HTC Touch phones (running on Windows Mobile 6)- better than they used to give out but no replacement for the Blackberry or as it turn out my old Nokia E71 (which I sadly sold recently)

I have managed to get a Curve 8310 off ebay at a great price and I am hoping that with the server settings that are on the HTC (server name, domain etc) that I will be able to get a BB working. I used the same server details before on a Nokia E71 and it all worked fine. Although the sim cards are enabled for data our IT Guys are less than helpful so I'd rather set it up without having to ask them for anything (and they probably wont help anyway as they say 'if its not HTC we don't support it) The server runs on MS Exchange it may have BB enterprise server on it but Im assuming they may run a different server for the few senior managers who do have BBs

It would be great to be able to get email and also replicate my diary - is this possible without BIS or BES?

I cant understand how it couldnt be possible because Im guessing that with data enabled on the Sim Card a BB should be able to interrogate the server in the same way at the HTC (and E71) did / do. I have come across a piece of software called AstraSync that seems to do it but Id rather not spend the $49 unless a) its the only way and b) it will definitely work:

Thanks for any / all help

    Steve

No. To access your email you need:

    1. BIS data plan and OWA/POP3/IMAP enabled at your MS Exchange server...
    2. ... or BIS data plan and BES Express installed with MS Exchange server...
    3. ... or BES data plan and BES/BES Express installed with MS Exchange server

Contacts, PIM, VPN available for 2 or 3 only.
