So far, it looks like the bulk of BlackBerry users (only who have voted) are within the 21-30 and the 31-40 range (though the next age bracket is pretty close, only off by ten). That's really interesting. It'd be a good social sciences/economics project to test this out via surveys and see why the results are what they are.

Maybe people in their 20's and 30's are running businesses or are employed by businesses who either have a stock in RIM or who use BlackBerry devices for their work phones. BlackBerry has been around for more than a few years now, so it's also possible that some users bought them when they first came out and are still continuing to purchase those products today (sticking with what they know/like). Perhaps students and other young adults get good student rates/plans with their carriers and have chosen BlackBerry for one reason or another - maybe because they can access their student email accounts, Hotmail/Yahoo mail/Gmail on the same device. Older users might be sticking with BlackBerry because they bought the earlier models and have been satisfied; thus sticking with the smartphone in question.

These are only my own opinions (I'm a Sociology student, so this kind of thing intrigues me); but I'm in no way saying that other smartphones aren't attractive or anything like that. These are just my own hypotheses based on the trends.
For me it is my second bb. I guess I have stuck with them because they do what I need and do what I need better and more efficiently than the others for me without having to add all these apps, roms, rooting, jailbreaking etc.

    That and bridge.

I'm about to be 48 soon/ *still act like I'm 21 / male / married / 2 kids I was the one that could program the VCR back in the day LOL. Age is nothing but a number. I still watch cartoons with my kids, play video games (HALO/COD) and stay interested in anything tech related. I'm in better shape then some of the young "whippersnappers" in my unit. LMAO Been with BlackBerry for about 5 years now and CrackBerry for just over 4!

47, 5 kids (one with first wife, two came with this wife, one this wife and I conjured up, and one that came to stay the night and never left). The one we had together is the last one living at home, she's 11 and rocks a 9800.

Self employed, tree work summer, plowing winter. Wife is an RN, 9800 as well, 15 years and still together, I guess love isn't always a battlefield. Of course, I work days, she works nights, and we've discovered it's hard to fight if you don't see each other all that often.

March 3rd I turned, uh let me think - oh 45. So used to telling people I am 25. You can say my delusions has become my reality there. 2 girls, youngest 12 and two dogs, peek-a-poo and -a-poo, oh and a husband too. Myself, my little brother and my dad are the only ones with Blackberry. The rest, well, you know.

I got my dad's leftover Tour his job gave him before he upgraded to android- which he currently hates.

I would most likely still have a dumb phone if I had not gotten that hand-me-down.

My grampa won a playbook at the casino and gave it to me.

Although I did not buy either device, they have converted me into a BB fanboy. When it does come time for me to get a phone, you can bet I'll be getting one.

I'm 17 and have been happily using a Blackberry for almost 2 years now, except for when I briefly tried Windows Phone and Android for a couple of months last year.

    I'm currently using a Bold 9900 and have a 32GB PlayBook. Before this, I had a Curve 9360, Bold 9780, Bold 9000, 8830 World Edition, Torch 9800 and Bold 9700.

My 54-year-old father is using my old Bold 9780 and loves typing on it compared to his old touch screen Android phone.

Also, my 14-year-old brother currently has my old Curve 9360, but he had a Torch 9800 and Curve 8530 before that. He got the 8530 when he was 13.

Now I just need to convert my mom...

57, out of the rat race and running a consultancy. 10 years next month with a Blackberry. 2 daughters (Galaxy 4S II and an old flip) One spouse (work-issued 9780) and a non-electronic dog.

My gut tells me we have a higher-income, higher-age group demographic, and that is because many long-time users, including me, got them years ago at work. Indeed, I bought my first personal Bold 9000 the month it came out - the same month I "took the package." Nice timing by RIM, I thought!

I'm sure most BB users are working and not on CB.
BBers carry their phones everywhere - and there's a CB app on our phones!
