    I'm 24. I've been using BlackBerrys since I was 19 and haven't regretted a minute of it.

I'm 25 and had my first Blackberry with T-Mobile...then switched to the Android...then got mad and switched over to Sprint with a BB Curve 9935 and couldn't be happier. Glad my battery doesn't run out after 4 outgoing text messages.

I'm 68 for a couple more months, single, feel 50. I've done dumb phones, WinMo (several versions), Android as a 2nd OS on a WinMo phone (courtesy of the gang at xda-developers). I have a 9800 sitting in the drawer and a 9810 in my pocket. Right now, the only thing that could drag me away from BB is the Galaxy Note. And, since the wallet'ss a little tighter than it used to be, that's not likely.

Well, I'm going to buck the trend here. Just to scare the pants off the OP, I'm nearly 65 and still working in IT. Yes, I have several grandchildren and proud of it but I do have one up on them all because none of them have BB's (I won't say what they use, I'll leave that to your imagination).

Great poll, should be on front page, but I assume the majority will be 21 to 40 since I believe that that is the demographic on CrackBerry and not BlackBerry, nice to see though.

21, Girlfriend, definitely hope to have kids. torch 9810 and PlayBook 32GB

I was reading through the Crackberry forums on my daily commute home this evening (as I usually do), when I came across pictures by a "Senior" Crackberry Genius talking about his GRANDKIDS... And I must admit... it alarmed me for a minute, as I realised grandparents now have the wisdom of technology to share too amidst their other myriad of life's golden lessons.
Do you realize that high school graduates from the early 1980s could be grandparents already? I am not speaking for myself but you seem to imply that the "senior crackberry genius" with grandchildren might not be as old as the blue-haired granny you are imagining. Now get off my lawn, youngster! ROFLMAO

Old enough to have 5 daughters, be retired, have a fatter wallet now then at any other time in my life, still fly (lightweights now), skydive in the summer months, deep sea fishing off the OBX on my beloved Whalers, and will pick up your dog's p00p off my lawn and deposit it in your mailbox...oh, and I have 2 Gordon Setters, a 28 lb Maine Coon cat, one turtle, and a foul mouthed 6 year old Hyacinth Macaw.

    58, married, two kids.

My first mobile phone of any kind was a T-Mobile SideKick, in March 2003. I stuck with that until December 2006, by which time the SideKick was having almost weekly services interruptions. I switched to a BB 8320 at that point, then 8900, then 9780, now 9900. I also have an HTC Radar WP7 phone.

Interestingly, my daughter, 28, doesn't have a smartphone and isn't interested in getting one.

So far, it looks like the bulk of BlackBerry users (only who have voted) are within the 21-30 and the 31-40 range (though the next age bracket is pretty close, only off by ten). That's really interesting. It'd be a good social sciences/economics project to test this out via surveys and see why the results are what they are.

Maybe people in their 20's and 30's are running businesses or are employed by businesses who either have a stock in RIM or who use BlackBerry devices for their work phones. BlackBerry has been around for more than a few years now, so it's also possible that some users bought them when they first came out and are still continuing to purchase those products today (sticking with what they know/like). Perhaps students and other young adults get good student rates/plans with their carriers and have chosen BlackBerry for one reason or another - maybe because they can access their student email accounts, Hotmail/Yahoo mail/Gmail on the same device. Older users might be sticking with BlackBerry because they bought the earlier models and have been satisfied; thus sticking with the smartphone in question.

These are only my own opinions (I'm a Sociology student, so this kind of thing intrigues me); but I'm in no way saying that other smartphones aren't attractive or anything like that. These are just my own hypotheses based on the trends.
