how often does everyone restart there blackberrys? do you believe that restarting several times in the day can cause stress on the phone and decrease phones life expectancy?
I restart my 9860 maybe once every two weeks or so. However, sometimes when I pull it out of my back pocket it's either gone to sleep or something 'cause it has to start up (via power button) even when I've pressed the lock button, but it doesn't take as long to boot then... mere seconds compared to minutes. No idea what that feature is... must be pushing a button or something when inserting into back pocket.
i have had a bold 9000 back 2 years ago and a curve 8900, i used to restart them both about 3 times a day, whenever i used to charge them and whenever i used to wake up and go sleep. they both lasted me a short time over a year. both causes of death was white screen.
I restart mine when its required due to installing/uninstalling apps. Otherwise, only when I notice its not preforming as quickly as it should. So every 3-4 days I'd guess, and when I do that I also clear the event log.
Restart would only help the phone in no way would it hurt the phone. I only restart when an app requires me too otherwise no need for it.
For reference on my old 9800 i had to restart once a day until i download an app called Memory Booster.
It has become daily for me. The memory gets so low to the point my phone cant function 10 seconds without that annoying spinning clock.
But this has recently happened since OS 7.1 and installing BeWeather. Im leaning toward BeWeather for the memory leak, althoug it may be some other app.
I've had my phone since Oct 2011 and this started about 1 or 2 months ago.
Im going to start leaving it a while before restarting/battery pulling my device, i actually think i did kill my devices. I dont even know why i do a battery pull for no reason. I hope i haven't decreased my bold 9900's life span.
Everyone seems to be telling me there side of how often they do battery pulls, but not if you do so many in a row if it will actually cause bad to your device. Opinions on that?
