As long as you're not experiencing a noticable lag, I wouldn't worry if I were you. Normally 12MB is adequate.

Above 12mb - the higher the better........ As SS said if you are not having issues just periodically check it by hitting alt - shift - h and go from there.

The answer will depend on which version of OS you have installed.

The original v4.2xx has a minimum reserved memory limit of 12 Mb. That is the point where memory management begins to take effect, deleting SMS text and Phone logs.

The upgraded v4.5xx OS is much improved. The minimum limit is 5 Mb, freeing up plenty of memory for normal operation.

The other advantage to upgrading, the preinstalled samples have been removed. That frees up another nice chunk of memory.

My MOP optimized 8320 has 24 Mb memory free, after a restart.

Yeah, I usually have between 48 and 50MBs free after a pull. Levels out to around 45MB after a few hours.

There has been various different models (and their size) mentioned. For example one fellow had a Bold, versus the other just before yours has an 8330.

I noticed that you have the 8900 (like myself), so we have a LOT more space (I'm sitting at 150mb+)

With the 8900 the last thing you will have issues with is memory I hope

256mb out of the box so........ Us lower memory folks have to watch it a little closer than you "steroid" device owners..
