In your country, state, province, district, whatever. How much data would 70 Canadian get you on one of the large carriers.

Just doing this thread to see all the different responses. No trolling, or complaining here please. I really don't want to the topic derailed.

70 CDN at Rogers gets you 250mb of data.

i''m with rogers an i have unlimited calling canada wide after 6pm and on weekends 100min before then. Unlimited texts and 6gb of data for 65$ including taxes.

I have been with rogers for over 10 years and smart phone plan for over 8 years (blackberry). You just need to constantly call rogers, ask to speak to their supervisor, don't get locked into a 2 year plan and threaten to leave. Its once in a while but you need to go down slowly.
I'm warning you that it wastes a lot of time since each call takes approx 1hour.

canada and new zealand are rated the highest cell phone plans in the world. That's why the price point above is so ridiculous. Rogers/Bell have the only cell towers and have no competition pretty much so they do what ever they want.

if you buy a 2 year plan in canada regardless what it is the minimum payment to start is $80. It seems to be the new trend that started not too long ago at Bell, Telus and Rogers.

which gets throttled after like 2 gb

type in "wind thr" in google it will auto complete it for you and show you many people with that issue

Going from rogers, bell and telus, you notice a huge bandwidth speed hit with wind. My brother tried it for a month on a nexus 5 and galaxy S5 and it was unbearable so he went back to rogers.

I'm getting 6gb a month for 50$ on verizon here in Missouri USA. It was 3 for that price but vzw did what they were calling a loyalty upgrade so I took em up on it.

Taking this one step further -
I will be in France and Germany this fall. What providers would be the least expensive for talk, txt, and data? Probably would be looking at prepaid gsm, even though I am presently Verizon.

I took Verizon up on their "free upgrade" too. Turns out it wasn't really a free upgrade at all. What they did was lower the price of their plans but get you to stay at the same price point by framing it as a "deal" to add more data for nothing. Had you or I not accepted the offer, we could have gotten the same data we had for less money. VZW is a giant scam.

For just the data or voice etc. Included?

VZW $70 gets 6gb of data on more everything but then you have all the other charges. Right now I had the 4gb for $60 but they doubled me to 8gb for no extra charge. My total bill is $104 with a 10% company discount.
